RunWin
Windows and Linux in a Mac window.
RunWin brings Arm64 virtual desktops to Apple silicon Macs, with a simple library and controls for processor, memory and storage.
App Store submission
RunWin 1.0 has been submitted to the Mac App Store and is waiting for review. It is not yet available to download. The planned launch price is US$9, with regional pricing set by Apple. France is excluded from this release.
Your virtual desktop
Create a Windows or Linux virtual machine using your own compatible Arm64 installer. Use its desktop in a window or full screen, scale the display to fit and shut down from RunWin. Change processor and memory settings while the virtual machine is shut down.
Text clipboard sharing and read-only Mac folder access need compatible guest tools. Windows helpers are installed and started manually in version 1.0. Guided Windows tools setup is planned for version 1.1.
A Windows licence is required separately. Operating system installation, licence acceptance, activation and account sign-in take place inside the guest.
Tested configuration
The release candidate was tested on Apple M5 Pro with 48 GiB memory and macOS 27.0.1, using Windows 11 Arm64 and Ubuntu 26.04.1 Arm64. The support page includes the tested Ubuntu live-desktop route.
